Within a marriage how does one go about building a priority pyramid using the four components of children, spouse, faith, and occupation? How does the formation of that pyramid affect marital happiness, intimacy, stability, morality and dependability. This chapter is the product of master’s thesis research studying this issue. Understanding this information is essential for couples as they build their families, careers, marriages, and faith.
Research for this article came from two pools: 100 divorced couples, and 30 happily married long-term marriages.
This article is a chapter of a course, so it provides break-points to ponder various issues. The reader will be enriched if they take time to think about and possibly even journal their responses to the questions raised at these breakpoints.
