My father was killed in an airplane crash when I was 13, so I until I left for college at age 18, I lived in a single-parent family.  I dearly love my mother and had a normal healthy relationship with her.  So I’m not in the least knocking single moms in this article.

However, generally speaking, boys don’t like talking with their mothers about sex.  Adolescent male sexuality is so overpowering and constant ~ in some ways similar to cocaine addiction ~ that females including mothers can’t really understand it.  Boys need men (hopefully, their dads) to talk with them and guide them through the mine field of male adolescent sexuality.  This chapter provides specialized training for dads with sons ~ not only regarding what to talk about, but how to do it.
