Learning To Pray

Prayer can  seem like a connundrum.  Do we pray to manipulate God, or is everything fixed and unchanging?  Does He really know all the details of our lives ~ does He care?  Is he close and personal or out there somewhere in another galaxy?  Can He actually “hear” our thoughts?

And why should we bother praying?  Does anything change when we do?  Does our prayer really accomplish anything, or is it just sort of a personal meditative thing that religious people do, for whatever reason?

I can’t take any credit for the attachment below.  I condensed it for my own use, from a small booklet someone gave me about 30 years ago.  I believe the original author’s name may have been William Sangster.  I suspect he’s dead by now ~ if not, sorry, Bill.  I’m adding it to my website only because it has been a blessing in my life, and I hope it’s the same for you.
