So I’m working out one day, lifting weights, pondering how resistance training builds strength when the thought occurred that the same process (i.e., resistance training) is also effective in character development. As I worked through the hour’s routine, doing sets of curls, presses, squats and so on, I reflected on areas in my character that were flabby and soft. The mental picture was depressing, and it quickly became obvious that character development was a function of intentional and focused resistance training. This chapter provides tools for men wishing to trim down their character fat and build muscles of integrity, especially in the area of most common male flabbiness ~ sex.
